Here we are, and as always the year has flown by. But we still have some important events upcoming, so hang on to your pants.
First and most urgently, Bass is organising the Christmas Party. We have booked the Riverdestra Restaurant in Darlington Point for 40 people as a guestimated number of participants, for Thursday 5th December.

If 40 people attend, the bus works out at a bit less than $20 each, and depending on the Banquet option we ask for at Riverdestra, it could be $25 or $30 per head (the latter includes garlic prawns and calimari with the entree). So at most, $50 per person all up. The banquet is garlic bread followed by a mix of pizza and pasta served continuously until we're full (ie, until we stop reaching for the pizza and moving it towards out mouths).
Sounds like a pretty good deal to me!
Riverdestra is fully licenced and individuals can buy their own drinks from the bar as is club custom already; there is no byo.

This week 21st November is a less formal dinner meeting at the Leeton & District Bowling Club. A.k.a the L&D, a.k.a, the bowlo.
Meals are optional, and I am told there will be a chinese buffet affordably priced, as well as other more conventional bar food.

Next week 28th November is my friend Alex Marley, talking about her adventures in PNG and the Top End, trying to save the languages of remote tribal indigenous cultures.
I could listen to her recounting these stories for hours, and frequently I have, so I know everyone will find it interesting.

The club AGM is still scheduled for the 12th December at The Wade Hotel. Same time, different place.

Our District is part of the National Rotary campaign to help End Trachoma by 2020, and our PDG Michael Milston asked for us to share this poster with everyone so that you can see some of the projects that have been happening this year to that end.
