Focus: Jason and Ben informed us about solar panels, inverters, and batteries, how they are set up to complement each other and how they are configured to suit the needs of the client. Much of the information is available on suncentralsolar.com.au
The organisation, Sun Central Solar, works over much of NSW. Ben Walsh is a local, well-known electrician who has been working with Jason for five years. They speak proudly of their reputation for providing quality design, installation and support for the capture of solar energy.
They offer a free consult. If needed, Ben can design and give a client a proposal. This can proceed to installation. After installation, they can give support remotely or on site.

To save energy, Jason advised: use high energy appliances during the day when solar energy is available; review your energy plan annually; and not expect worthwhile gains for energy returned to the system. The advantage of a suitable solar energy installation is to gain energy independence and protection from future power shocks.
At the conclusion of Jason and Ben’s talk, Bill Aliendi spoke of Ben’s commitment to the Show Society. Ben is the major sponsor of the Show Society for a number of years, showing loyalty and efficiency.
Reports:
Jennifer: A meeting of those involved in the re-erection of the Rotary Rotunda is to be held next week.
Brian: The RYDA trailers have been located. Insurance and registration will become a District responsibility.
Allan: Kerry Dowley has suffered a fall. He expects to be hospitalised for three weeks and to endure a lengthy period of convalescing. Jennifer to organise a get-well card.
Geoff: An application to place another seat on the walk from Wattle Hill to the shopping centre is being penned.
Jennifer: An email from Batemans Bay Rotary asking for funding support for Maasai Mammas, their first RAWKS project. Website https://maasaimammas.org for more information. The project will provide water and storage for in Kenya.
Fines:
Sargeant Carmel challenged us to drop a toilet roll from a height of 10 cm to land on its end. Some of us achieved mastery at this task by trial and error and were rewarded with a chocolate.

Story
An elderly woman went into the Dentist’s surgery and asked how much it would cost for a tooth extraction.
The dentist replied, “Our fixed price for an extraction is $380.”
The old woman said, “Oh, that’s a lot of money. Have you got anything cheaper for an older patient?
“Well”, the dentist replied, “I could give you a small discount making the price $360.”
“What if there was no anaesthetic?” the old woman enquired.
“In that case I could do it for $220”, the dentist said. “However it would be very painful.”
“Hmmmm”, the old woman went on, “What about if we used one of those trainee dentists and still without an anesthetic?”
“Well, it is possible, however they are only training and things could go wrong. It would be even more painful, but I suppose that we could do it for $120.”
“Ah, that’s still a bit much!” the old woman said. “How about if we made it a training session, with the extraction done by one of the students and all of the other trainees watching and learning?”
The dentist thought about it and said, “In that case I suppose that we could do it for $50.”
“Excellent”, the old woman replied, “Can you book my husband in for next Wednesday?”
