So what is the difference between robotics and robots I hear you ask? Robotics is a branch of technology that deals with physical robots. Robots are programmable machines that are usually able to carry out a series of actions autonomously, or semi-autonomously. Robots interact with the physical world via sensors and actuators.
Advantages commonly attributed to automation include higher production rates and increased productivity, more efficient use of materials, better product quality, improved safety, shorter workweeks for labour and reduced factory lead times. Worker safety is an important reason for automating an industrial operation.
Automating processes ensures high quality results as each task is performed identically, without human error. Manual tasks are boring and laborious. Automation allows employees to work on more engaging activities and thus increases satisfaction.

The MenuThis week’s dinner was almost traditional with roast chicken, potatoes, pumpkin and peas.Matt being Matt, on the menu was also chicken kebabs and mini beef dim sims and chocolate cake for dessert.
As next week will be our last meal at the MIA Club Chef Matt will be making something ‘extra special’ (his words not mine) he also added, it will include ‘one of everything in the fridge and one of everything in the bar’.
