Rachel began by introducing herself as the Leeton Library Supervisor. She also acknowledged the work of Rotary in the community.
Our Library is More Than Books
- We are a part of Riverina Regional Library - which consists of 20 other branches.
- We offer a vast collection of physical and digital materials - books, audiobooks, ebooks, DVDs, magazines, newspapers, music, and much more.
- We provide free public Wi-Fi access, public computers essential for education and job opportunities. Local history room including microfilm of The Irrigator, Home library service, special collection of first nations.
- We host a variety of programs and events for all ages - story times, author talks, book clubs, technology classes, social networking with the knitting group, brain games, Tai Chi and chair yoga.
- We offer meeting spaces for community groups, fostering collaboration and engagement.
How we help our Community
- We support early literacy with programs like Story time and Baby rhyme time. During the school holidays we have additional programs on Monday and Friday
- We offer a safe and inclusive space for people to connect, socialize, and access information.
- We bridge the digital divide by offering technology access and training.
- We embrace community support giving us new ideas for new programs and services.
- Volunteering opportunities are available for those who want to share their time and skills.
- If you haven't done so, please come to visit the library and explore all it has to offer.

- Not an interesting week. Helped at market day, had a birthday party and stayed overnight. Did not get up early to watch football.

- Note the Stories of Resilience Breakfast is on 22nd May. There is no dinner meeting on 23rd May.

Sergeants Session – Barry
- Got all the welcome backs.
- Peter wedding anniversary, dinner at Pages, car rear-ended, expensive night.
- Allan for previous complaint that he (Barry) arrived before Allan for Rotary.
- Allan again for his car.
- George – batching and cooking his own dinner, send photo evidence to wife.
- All not attending the market day.
- Greg – worked all day at the markets, then walked home in the rain whilst advertising Rotary via his umbrella.
- Javian – arrived late to the markets, left early and the amount of food he managed to eat whilst there.
- Len – at Colly for 2 weeks.
- Matt for his team’s loss.
- Peter – has managed to find something he can beat Javian at - darts.
Peter won the raffle – maybe just a little compensation for his bad luck!

Job offer
Reaching the end of a job interview, the Human Resources Officer asks a young engineer fresh out of the University of Technology, “And what starting salary are you looking for?” The engineer replies, “In the region of $150,000 a year, depending on the benefits package.” The interviewer inquires, “Well, what would you say to a package of five weeks’ vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary, and a company car leased every two years, say, a red convertible?”
The engineer sits up and says, “Wow! Are you kidding?”
