Hello Rotary Club of Leeton
March is shaping up well. We have guest speakers at our two next MIA Club meetings:
March 5th - Kerrie Ross, Afsana Ahmadi, and Ganga Budha
Kerrie Ross is Leeton's main teacher of English for Speakers of other Languages (ESL), as well as the leader of the Leeton Multicultural Society. Accompanying Kerrie are two of her ESL students, Afsana from Afganistan, now from Leeton, NSW, and Ganga from India, now from Leeton, NSW. Each new Australian has a different journey, and through a panel style presentation Kerrie will lead our other two guests through their stories, and we will no doubt learn a lot about the work Kerrie does here with migrant communities both at TAFE and out and about.

March 12th - Lauren Poulsen from Community Transport (Leeton-Narrandera)
We see the cars driving around, and we all know a little bit about Community Transport as it was much lauded when it began to operate last year, however you like I no doubt would like to know exactly how it works, and how it is going. Lauren will give a short presentation and then we will be able to ask all the questions we want.
Other Activities:
This Saturday is the Farmer's Market, so please remember to sign up with Dan this week if you have some time to help out.
So it looks like there is a Caring theme to this month. Transport to help the vulnerable get around, citizens coming together to help new arrivals, and of course our usual selfless service to the community in the form of sausages and minute steak sold at reasonable prices.
Further Ahead:
Our Club meeting on the 19th March is looking like it will be a vocational visit to the IREC (Irrigation Research and Extension Committee) field station in Whitton.
Not sure what we will be eating, but I guess we could see who is able to deliver pizza that far out of town!?
