This is Your Life!
What a great evening on Thursday as the club welcomed its newest member and got to hear a bit about her very interesting life. Fiona Kibble grew up on a hobby farm near the town of Nowra, the third of four boisterous siblings. Her adventures began in 1988 when Fiona headed to England on a working holiday - an Earl's Court Aussie!. There she found employment with Arthur Bell Distillers, makers of the famous Pimm's liquor. While working for Arthur Bell Fiona got to travel and experience much of the UK at the same time promoting Arthur Bell brands around the country shows. After about two years of this Fiona got the travel bug again and decided to relocate to Jersey in the Chanel Islands - a place she remembers as being beautiful in the summer but 'bloody awful' in the winter. Fiona lived in Jersey for a couple of years before applying and being accepted into the Jersey Police Department a position she kept for the next seven years. Fiona reckons her experiences as a police officer deserve a whole nother evening to relate! It was at this time that Fiona started her family but soon decided that children are best raised with the support of family so she headed back to Oz and the comfort of the family home. Using her law-enforcement experience Fiona found employment with the Department of Corrective Services as a Probation Officer and in 2015 when her daughter started high school at Yanco Ag Fiona was able to arrange a transfer to Griffith so they could be close. Fiona has been active in Rotary since 2007 when she joined the Rotary Club of Nowra. She has fond memories of being host mother for a number of Rotary Exchange Students. The best Probation Officer joke I could find......sorry Fiona, it's a bit of a groaner....
A Probation Officer was staying with a friend and asked if their was anything she could do to help out.
"If you're going out, would you mind picking up a litre of milk. If they have eggs, get six" was the reply.
The Probation Officer soon returned with six litres of milk.
"Why did you get six litres of milk?", the friend asked.
"They had eggs".

Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your generous donation towards our funds for which we are grateful, it helps in defraying costs.
On behalf of the Eisteddfod Committee, I wish to also thank you for your help in organising helpers during the school choir days and also assembling the chairs for the Bands, for without this help it would have been a handful for the committee.
Could you pass on to those who helped our sincere thanks and hope that members will assist us again in 2018.
We feel our Music Section was a success. The two adjudicators were impressed with Leeton and the standard portrayed by the contestants.
