Farewell Roz

Though miles may lie between us,
We are never far apart,
For friendship doesn't count the miles,
It's measured by the heart

Goodbyes are not forever,
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean we'll miss you,
Until we meet again.

At Thursday's dinner meeting the club said goodbye to long-standing member and friend Roz Thompson. Roz is leaving us to support her son in Townsville but promises to be back from time to time just to 'make sure we're all OK'. Roz has been a member of the Leeton Rotary club for over ten years and, among many other things, has been the driving force behind the annual Rotary Club of Leeton Belle of the Debutante Ball.  The Ball is a major annual function of the Club's and a significant event within the Leeton community calendar. Her commitment and talents will be sorely missed. In recognition of Roz's contributions to the club and to the community at large, particularly the Cystic Fibrosis Association, Roz was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship. President David noted in his farewell address that 'Roz Thompson has served her family, her community and Rotary in an exemplary fashion. The world is a better place because of her service and she is a deserving recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow recognition.'

We'll miss you Roz!!
