Nov. 11, 2018 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Got plans on Sunday Nov11, 2018 10:30 am - 2:30 pm? It's time for our November Social and we are going to a Goat Farm in Mezcala! Put on your farm clothes and let's hang out with some goats in beautiful Mezcala!
Price is $450 pesos and includes transportation, tour and refreshments at the farm!
The farm is called Galo de Allende and I first met the young owner couple at the Ajijic food and wine event a few months ago at the Yacht club. Once I followed their page on Facebook and saw the adorable goat pics, I was convinced we MUST go! So our date is Sunday November 4! Here are the details:
The Galo de Allende transport (capacity 18 passengers) will pick us up at Walmart at 10:30 am by the bus stop (beside the stairs). It takes 40 min on a very panoramic route to get to the farm. When we get there, we have a healthy breakfast with fruit, yogurt and Mexican coffee. Then we will meet the goats, take pictures with the baby goats, feed their moms with some plum leaves, and we will take a walk with the goats around the land, enjoying the breathtaking views from Chapala Lake and the historical Mezcala Island. We will finish our afternoon with a delicious cheese and wine tasting. And we will return to the Walmart Ajijic around 2:30 pm.
Everything for $450.00 pesos/Adult, $350.00 pesos/ Kids (11-17) years), $250 pesos/ kids (5-10).
What do you think? Do you like goats? Farms? Cheese and wine? Or just want to an AWESOME Sunday with your fellow Rotary Club Ajijic Rotarians?

Rotary Club of Ajijic will have a booth at the Chili Cook Off which is being held at the Tobolandia in Ajijic on Friday, February 15-Sunday, February 17 from 11:00 AM to 5:15 PM. There will be a daily raffle at our booth to raffle off a bottle of tequila daily. Please let Dr. Cherry know if you would like to assist at the Rotary Booth by sending her an email at: chapalameddra.cherry@gmail.com . Are you interested in joining Rotary Club Ajijic? Ask me how! Dr. Cherry: chapalameddra.cherry@gmail.com . The Chili Cook Off started back in 1978 and is still running strong today in its most stable location yet, the Tobolandia water park in Ajijic. It has been hosted in several other places but for the past years the back area of the water park has been perfect for the venue, not to mention the parking is vast enough for all visitors. The participants, cooks and visitors to the event keep growing year by year. This event always kicks off with a parade down the carretera and ends at the entrance of the cook off. There is so much to eat, drink see and of course taste. Anyone can be a participant to try their luck and all visitors to the event can do the chili tasting and cast their vote at the end. There is also a Margarita tasting contest that goes really well with all the Chili tasting. There are shows to watch each day of the event, everything from traditional Mexican Folkloric dancing to a rock band to get everyone in the groove. There are many great booths to shop for art work, t-shirts and all sorts of other business promote their products. Make sure not to miss the famous Chili Dogs and ribs available at the event, some of the best food around that goes well with the event. Take a look at our picture gallery and blog posts, we try to cover the cook off every year, taking pictures and writing about the overall experience. Dowload the schedule: Click for schedule:
