Another Rotary Year Poem

Another Rotary Year

Another Rotary year is almost done

For Rio Grande, where we ask, “Is it fun?”

We journeyed through these twelve months easily,

Thanks to our leader, Brad “The Prez” Beasley.

Student Rotarians weekly came for lunch.

Said one, “You older guys are a cool bunch!”

We offered essay contests for middle and high schools;

Each week we reaffirmed the Rotary rules.

We held a Yard Sale where we raised ten grand.

Dress The Child succeeded as we had planned.

Dictionaries went to every third grade kid.

Yes, we were busy, but that’s not all we did.

Weekly speakers delivered good information;

The Blue Marble caused occasional elation.

Happy Dollars brought laughter and applause;

We supported Polio Plus, a worthy cause.

We sent kids up to RYLA to learn and bond.

East Anglia Rotarians came from across the pond.

Club members brought back flags when they did roam,

And every month, a newsletter and Rotary poem.

So, give a hand for all who did their part;

Brad and his board delivered from the heart.

We made a difference with the world and youth,

And as the 4-Way Test says, that’s the truth.
