Rotary Club of San Antonio West Meeting Notes
Our Rotarians started the New Year by sharing many happy moments: birthdays, a son becoming an Eagle Scout (Leo Cantu), a Hawaii vacation (Rick Nollenberger), a wife being Mrs. Texas (Philip Harrelson), and walking around the pond (after not knowing a few months ago if he would ever walk again) (Gordon Cox).
The team brag was a presentation of a certificate from The Rotary Foundation for 2022-2023 support for Ending Polio; plus, a banner for being #3 in per capita giving in our 55-club South Central Texas District.
A snapshot of the club culture of supporting the humanitarian programs of Rotary was the presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow +6 pin to Philip Harralson, recognizing his sustained financial support for the Foundation.
Then the meeting shifted gears to a technology learning opportunity relating to the club’s website presence using Club Runner software. Jim Goodenough used the room A/V system, hooked into his smartphone and the internet, to lead us through a few of the resources available with such a system.
After the tech demonstration, President Jerry offered several service opportunities looking for volunteers in 2024.
President-Elect Bob announced a planning meeting next Tuesday, Jan 9th, with the 2024-2025 team to work more on service project plans and the club's Strategic Plan. Also of importance, and how we address it, is mental health—whether loneliness for teens or memory care for seniors.
Nobody won the Alzheimer's funding raffle, and the pot will be higher next meeting on Tuesday, January 16th.

Bring a few dozen pairs of adult socks to support homeless individuals living on the streets of San Antonio.
