Last, guest speaker Hugh Farr was introduced to discuss the BIG NEEDS of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas located here in San Antonio.

BIG NEEDS is characterized by the fact that too many vulnerable youth today are growing up without the support and guidance they need to be successful.

Many factors contribute to this fact. 1) Poverty, 2) Single-parent families, 3) Academic struggles, and 4) Juvenile delinquency. Many volunteers are needed continually to be trained to fill the need.

There is currently a waiting list of between 700 and 800 youth waiting to be mentored.

Overall meeting attendance was 65%. 15 members attended. 8 members unattended. 23 total active members.
