On June 18th, we welcomed local Rotarian James C. "JC" Clapsaddle, who discussed his involvement in delivering humanitarian aid to the war effort in Ukraine.

JC gave an in-depth report on his involvement in helping to purchase, modify, supply, and deliver emergency medical recovery vehicles and ambulances to Ukraine.
An example of one mission is Lviv, Ukraine. Our small crew of Rotarians just drove 1,300 miles to deliver 2 ambulances and 6 Extraction vehicles and their contents (medical supplies, tourniquets, bandages, generators, and 300 pairs of tennis shoes for little kids) to the people of Ukraine.

Another illustration of JC's commitment and service to the mission of Rotary, Rotary Club Ukraine Unity, to install JC Clapsaddle as an honorary member.
This honor was bestowed on him and the Rotary Club of San Antonio, TX, for the support that he and the Rotary Club of San Antonio, TX have provided to Rotary in Ukraine, the Ukrainian people, and the promotion of peace.

Ukraine's HelpSTAB (Help Stabilize) unit is a corps of civilians who venture into combat zones to save & evacuate civilians and military causalities from the Russian invasion. Our Rotary Club of San Antonio, TX, partners like STAYWITHUKRAINE INC, 3M Hythe Ukrainian Aid Updates, Tony Preston, Rotary Club Ukraine Unity, and others support HelpStab. We buy and then convoy vehicles and equipment from England to Ukraine. The vehicles are then modified/ruggedized for frontline duty. Some of these are provided to the heroes at HelpStab to support their casualty extraction mission. Look at the Before & After images. In the hands of HelpStab, these Casualty Extraction Vehicles will save lives daily.
