MEETING TO ORDER: President Chuck Tull called the meeting to order at 12:30 and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Pete Kremen gave the invocation.
VISITING ROTARIANS: George Tsakumis of Vancouver Club, and Fred Sexton of the Bellingham Club.
GUESTS: Ken Richardson's mother Mary Lou.
BIRTHDAYS & ANNIVERSARIES: None
RETURNING ROTARIANS: None
ANNOUNCMENTS: Jake Smith gave "A Rotary Foundation Thought of the Day", about "Matching Grants", and reminded members to support The Foundation !
Ken R. announced The Rotary Foundation Dinner will be held on November 12th. It was decided the event would start at 5:30 and dinner would be served at 6:00.
Chuck T. announced a Board Meeting and a Foundation meeting next Thursday morning, October 31st at Sharon R's office.
Tony Cubellis reminded everyone of The Rotary Leadership Meeting in Mt.Vernon on the 24th of October.
Ray George announced that his business "The Sign Post" will be holding an open house on September 29th from 3 to 7PM to celebrate 30 years in business. In addition to the open house there will be a raffle and barbeque.
Larry P. announced a District Membership Retention Seminar on October 3rd at Fox Hall in Bellingham. Also there will be a District Leadership Seminar on October 12th. Members can register on line at the District Website.
Dan Baker announced a Fund Raising Committee Meeting at Arlyis's Restaurant at 7:00AM next Tuesday, September 29th. Dan has reserved a room and hopes the entire committee will attend.
Chuck T. announced that committee chairmen should be working on their tasks for the year. Specifically mentioned were Youth Service Awards and Career Fair that take time to get organized.
HAPPY BUCKS: The following members were happy:
Chuck T. was happy about not being the President of The Seattle Rotary Club with their financial problems.
Winton S. was happy about his company being recognized for good work.
Scott W. about the Husky's win over USC.
Dan B. about the Husky's and Cougar's wins. Also wondered where Jack C. was ?
Marlene S. about being a very proud new grandmother.
Paul C. about being close to a record involving 126 parachutists.
Jake S. about being very happy the Husky's won, to the tune of $100 !
Larry P. about Whatcom County and Bellingham Parks Departments doing a good job keeping the parks maintained.
Tim C. about the Husky's
Rome S. about the Badger's 3-0 record.
Bill G. was happy to be wearing shorts during fall, with the great weather we have been having.
FINEMASTER: Ken Richardson fined the following:
Scott P. for not showing up for his finemaster's duties.

Golfers to pay including visitor Fred Sexton.
Anybody happy about big ten teams can pay an extra dollar.
Larry P. about mixing up park's departments.

Banners: All the banners were from the Canadian Clubs in Our District
PROGRAM: Dan B. introduced this week's program, Dr. Robert W. Keiper of WWU. His talk was on "Laughter as Medicine and Motivation", Dr. Keiper gave a very informative and humorous talk.
DRAWING: The card drawn was the Jack of Spades.
