MEETING TO ORDER: President Chuck Tull called the meeting to order at 12:30 and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Gary Tomsic gave the invocation.
VISITING ROTARIANS: George Tsakumis of Vancouver Club, Randy Bode of the Mt. Baker Club, Jeanne McGee of the Melaque Mexico Club, and Phil Griggs of the Bellingham Club.
GUESTS: Ken Richardson's wife Susan, Jerry Landcastle's wife Sharon.
BIRTHDAYS & ANNIVERSARIES: Larry Pollett on the 18th.
RETURNING ROTARIANS: None
ANNOUNCMENTS: Tim Villhauer gave "A Rotary Foundation Thought of the Day", and reminded members to support The Foundation !
Tim Carpenter announced The Rotary Foundation Dinner will be held on November 12th.
Chuck reminded all club members to buy more raffle tickets.
Chuck also reminded members to bring in good quality used books for area elementary schools.
Bill Grace announced that new Rosters are on the tables with the first correction also being there.
Tony Cubellis reminded everyone of The Rotary Leadership Meeting in Mt.Vernon on the 24th of October.
Ray George announced that his business "The Sign Post" will be holding an open house on September 29th from 3 to 7PM to celebrate 30 years in business. In addition to the open house there will be a raffle and barbeque.
HAPPY BUCKS: The following people were happy: Rich J. was happy about his father's successful heart bypass surgery. Chuck T. for the U of W football win. Leah M. for five years of marriage. Jeanne Mc. for doing really good in a photo contest in London England. Jack C. about USC? George T. about the hard work done by Bill G. Brian F. for U of W football. Ray G. about a successful trip to Randy C's. Office. Tim C. was happy about Larry P's. seven decades and Jerry and Sharon's anniversary. Tim C., again using up time, was unhappy about the roster being the same color as last years. Randy C. was very happy that Tim C. was finished. Dick N. had a sad dollar for putting his car up for sale. Jerry L. was $49 dollars happy for his 49 years with Sharon and a dollar for his 74 years. Chuck T. for being proud of a niece at WSU.
FINEMASTER: Ken Richardson fined the following: Brian F. owed for an IOU and as long as he was paying also was responsible for two of his "friends" IOU's. Marlene S., Randy C., and Chuck T. also had IOU's. Gary T. for Blaine's personnel changes. Tim C. did his best to fill in the excess time due to no formal program; He fined Larry P. for the Visioning Program being cancelled, saying DEATH of the presenter was no excuse. Chuck T. was fined for mixing up some names. Phil Griggs for being the last one to the meeting, also Lorrie L., Jeanne Mc., Rome S. for cutting arrival time too close. All Past Presidents just because.
Banners: All the banners were the colors purple and gold to recognize University of Washington's Cross Country Team winning a National Championship.
PROGRAM: Old Member Talk's were presented by the following: Randy Carr, Tyler Cook, Max Legg, Scott Wallace, and Jeanne McGee.
DRAWING: The card drawn was the three of diamonds.
