MEETING TO ORDER:  Past President Tim Villhauer called the meeting to order at 12:30 and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Rick Staeb gave the invocation.

 

VISITING ROTARIANS: Jeanne McGee from Mexico - Phil Gibbins from Bellingham - Duwayne Palmblad from somewhere ! He didn't list a home club.

George Tsakumis from Vancouver.

 

GUESTS:  Ray G. and Laurie L. had Karli Zwade; she is helping to put together a Face Book Page for the Club. Tim V. had Chris Bonner a MetLife Agent - Jake S. brought Bob Hughes a former club member - Larry R. brought Duane Conrad of Woodward Landscaping - Greg T. brought Henry Kauss from The Factory - Leah M. brought a special guest Willa.    

 

BIRTHDAYS & ANNIVERSARIES:   None.

 

RETURNING ROTARIANS:  Rome S. is back from a couple of weeks in Wisconsin and Doug T. is back from travels around California.

 

ANNOUNCMENTS: Past President Tim announced there will be no meeting on Thursday July 1st due to the 4th of July weekend. Also there will be no meeting on June 24th, but will be held instead on, Friday evening, June 25th for Induction of Officers and Board Members.

Marlene S. has had a very poor return rate on her e-mail, asking for Committee Preferences. Please get back to Marlene with your choices so she can plan her upcoming year.

Bill G. is going to press with the Roster. Get in touch with Bill if you have any last minute changes.

Tim V. announced The Club in a Club was FANTASTIC !  Also he acknowledged Ray G. and family, and Karli Zwade for doing a great job. A total of 67 people attended, 10 of them were prospective new members.

Tim C. announced Golf Fun is coming up - get ready to contribute, and/or play.

Doug T. had list of donors to the Boys and Girls Club on the tables, for proof reading. Contact Doug if you have any corrections.

Josh W. handed out invitations to the "Ribbon Cutting and Recognition Ceremony" for the Boys and Girls Club to be held on June 16th at 4:30 PM.

 

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  Dan Baker is taking pledges to help Karli Z. purchase a Special Laptop to use for her one year as Washington State Secretary for the Future Farmers of America. Contact Dan at 319-5092 or email him at dan@baker-consult.com , with your pledge. The computer is expected to cost around $1,400, so bring your money next Thursday.      

 

HAPPY BUCKS:  Tim V. was happy about the success of "Club in a Club".

Bill G. about an upcoming car show this weekend at BoulevardPark.

Doug T. about the TeenCenter wrap-up.

Ken R. about Karli and the Club in a Club.

Leah M. about Club in a Club.

Sharon R. about the number of recent events Our Club has handled in the last month.

Brian F. about a convention.

Paul C. about all the help he received with Group Study Exchange.

Norm V. about Club in a Club.

Julie J. about the TeenCenter.

Tim C. was very happy about how good Our Club works when he is out of town.

Mel H. was happy about recent travels and the number of guests he is expecting shortly.

Jake S. about Club in a Club.

Greg T. was very happy about a new puppy and a little sad for his older dog.

Larry R. and Ray G. were happy about Club in a Club, but I guess it might have been a little bit about it being over.

      

FINEMASTER:  Ken Richardson was fine-master by default.

Lex L. didn't show up $5.

Greg T. refused to serve as fine master $3.

Jake S. made the mistake of getting to the meeting on time $3.

Tim V. for being late $3.

Bill G. for being too eager to help the fine-master.

Mel H. for giving his own mini program.

Anyone that didn't make it to Club in a Club were fined $3 this week and it will be $5 next week.

Ray G. $5 just because Ken could.

Ken found Leah M. had a $5 IOU in the box and left early, so Ken raised it to $10. I think Scott W. will have to be consulted on the Wallace Rule.

Ray G. was fined another $2 for a comment.

Everyone except Club Officers and Directors was fined $1.   

 

BANNERS: Were all about Memorial Day on one display and The Banners from The Group Study Exchange were on the other display.

 

PROGRAM:  Greg T. introduced Karli Zwade.  Karli is a junior at FerndaleHigh School and will graduate in two weeks. She is the incoming State Secretary for FFA, and will take the next year off from school to serve in that capacity. She has been asked to go on to a National Office the following year, and is considering it. Karli gave a very informative program on the Club's new Face-Book Page. After questions and answers Karli talked about her challenges recovering from a soccer injury, and Her plans on future schooling.
