MEETING TO ORDER: President-elect Marlene called the meeting to order at: 12:30. Rick Staab gave the invocation.

FOUNDATION THOUGHT: Ken Richardson presented Project Patagonia, a project started by Ambassadorial scholar alumni to build a library at a disadvantaged school in Patagonia, Argentina. We can contribute to this effort via the EREY program. (Every Rotarian Every Year).

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

(1) Stan is looking for a volunteer to take digital photographs and make small prints of the new banners that have been added to the club.

(2) Induction dinner will be Friday June 25th, please RSVP to Ken Richardson if you have not already. There will be no meeting on Thursday June 24th.

(3) Dan Baker is still collecting donations to help Karli Zwade get the laptop computer she needs for her upcoming FFA position.

HAPPY BUCKS: Norm was happy (sad?) about the Mariners, Dan Parsons happy for the pig roast and the car show at Boulevard Park. After hearing so much about it Dan finally attended and really enjoyed it. Jack was happy about the M's., Tim V. sorry that he missed the car show. Bill was of course happy about the success of the car show and also about having given 185 pints of blood. He mentioned how great it was that all of the people there when he was were 100+ donors. Laurie was $20 happy or sad about the end of Ken Griffey Jr.'s career. Paul happy for pulled weeds, Maureen $20 happy for her dreamy trip to Bali. Greg T. for his birthday, Dan for picking up garbage, and the monsoon season in Bellingham. Sharon celebrated the last 7:00 am Board meeting at her office.

FINEMASTER: Maureen McCarthy served as fine master. She began with kudos to Dan for the organization of the garbage pickup day – no fine. Anyone who did not participate in any way in Sea to Ski or Memorial day was fined. Paul for still wearing a white shirt, when not required. She fined all of the all-male tables, anyone who had not yet paid for meals, and someone who had mispronounced the president's name.

BANNERS: Another creative one by Stan - with banners scattered around the room from cities beginning with "J," "U," "N," and "E" he had June bustin' out all over.

PROGRAM: Peggy Perry, the Program Director of the Peace Health/St. Joseph's Wound Healing Center gave today's program. She provided information on the common causes of wounds that won't heal: diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure. She also spoke about the process that they go through to evaluate patients and make sure that they are following the best program for their individual needs. She explained why a Wound Healing Center is necessary – other medical professionals do not have the time or training to treat this sort of specialty condition.
