MEETING TO ORDER: President Gary called the meeting to order. Pete K. provided the invocation.

ANNOUNCMENTS:
Randy is presenting a special program next week. He will be telling us about his recent visit to
Randy also noted that we still need speakers/programs for August. Your ideas for speakers are most welcome. Contact Randy a member of the Program Committee with program ideas.
Dues and meals statements were handed out last week. All are encouraged to add to your payment a donation to the Rotary Foundation to help our Club reach 100% participation in the Every Rotarian Every Year campaign.
NEW MEMBERS:
We are encouraged to think of friends, family and associates who would be good Rotarians. Bring them to a meeting and start the new member process.
HAPPY BUCKS: Various sums were donated as Happy Bucks:
Rollo – for two weeks in
Maureen – for time weekends in
Pete K. – for the greatness of the film based upon local WWII pilot Joe Moser’s book. The film, Lost Airmen of Buchenwald, had itsworld premiere at the Mr. Baker Theatre.
Bill – for the same movie and the patriotism displayed and for his new wedding band to replace the lost one he told us about last week.
Jeanne – for not being eaten by grizzly bears at
Jerry – happy his wife Sharon attended the meeting and that they are off to
Marlene – for the recent visit by her daughter and son-in-law; and for
Dick – he also appreciated the movie at the Mr. Baker Theatre; and he was glad that Jake now knows where his car is.
Jake – clearing up Dick’s comments about the car, Jake explained that his car, which had been stolen, had been pulled from
Ken – he enjoyed the Board meeting and getting back to Club business.
Scott – for his two weeks fishing in
Julie – for her granddaughters, one pitching for
Paul – he has been losing things. His parachute is still missing, but his wedding ring that he lost in the sand at
FINEMASTER: Mighty Maureen Mastered the Fine Art of imposing fines on one and all. At least, I don’t see how anyone could have been missed.
The privilege of paying fines fell upon the following:
All who did not buy a raffle ticket.
All who ate now leaves for lunch.
Randy for being last in the door.
Gary T. for carrying on the Club tradition of mangling the names of women members by splitting the difference between Marlene and Maureen. (Was it Maurlene? I don’t see the issue. ED)
All scooters were to pay. (But who would scoot on a Club Assembly?)
Pete K. for sitting in George T.’s location.
Maureen noted Marlene and Laurie are Past and Future Club Presidents …no fine, just thanks. That led to all who have not been Club President being asked to donate a fine and being encouraged to consider participation in Club leadership. And if you ever missed a meeting when (or because) we were looking for a Club President candidate, you were fined.
If you have not submitted your spouse’s picture, it cost a fine.
If you are worried that submitting your spouse’s picture will make them look old because your picture has not been updated, pay and fine and update your picture. Send spouse pictures and updates of yourself in Jpeg form to Bill Grace.
If no one at your table was over 80 years old, it cost you a buck.
Maureen was involved in the Chuckanut footrace…Derrick made it look too easy. I am not sure if that cost Derrick a fine or was just an Atta Boy.
If you have not attended a family, school or other social reunion or big picnic, it cost a buck.
If you have not been to a wedding recently, that was a buck.
If you have not been to a party with at least 15 kids under 9 years old it cost a buck.
Paul and Tyler, wearing their Eye Heart Grocery Store (Haggen) T-shirts, were acknowledged, by not fines.
Brian was not fined for inviting Maureen to sit at the rowdy table rather than sitting alone.
Several of us were fined for not knowing that WTA’s eldest Specialized Transportation rider is 104 years old.
Banners: The banners all had ‘ton’ or ‘town’ in their location name. Thanks, Stan.
PROGRAM:
Rather than a program, we had a Club Assembly to discuss plans ideas and goals for the Club.
To get things started, Club Treasurer Julie presented the Club’s financial statement, reviewing and explaining revenue and expenses.
We then split up in five groups and each group had a topic to discuss for 15 minutes. At the end of the session, each group reported the gist of the group’s discussion.
The topics were Attendance, Communications/Public Relations, Fellowship, Membership and Fundraising.
Encouraging and foster greater Member involvement in all aspects of the Club’s business, work, fellowship and all activities seem to be a predominant theme.
Notes were being taken and there should be follow-up to this meeting at future Club Assemblies which President Gary intends to schedule monthly.
In the mean time, all committees are too meet and review and plan their goals, duties and activities for the year.
Committee assignment sheets were handed again. Please look at your assignments and go to work.
