MEETING TO ORDER:
President-elect Chuck Tull called the meeting to order with what some might have said was a less-than-enthusiastic ring of the bell. He then led us in the Pledge of Allegiance without the microphone. Mel Hollinger gave the invocation, with the microphone, and we all heard it although he might not have.
VISITING ROTARIANS:
George Tsakumis from the Vancouver Club and Michael Brassil, a very nice and unprepossessing man from the Midtown Sacramento club, who was only a little bit shocked to be introduced as Michael Razzle Dazzle Brassil.
GUESTS:
Jerry Landcastle's lovely wife Sharon, who is being taken on an exciting vacation to Ritzville this week. Are they taking the last train? Paul brought Tyler Cook from Meridian Haggen.
BIRTHDAYS:
Ken Richardson and our wonderful server Suzie were born this week. Probably not the same year though.
ANNOUNCMENTS:
(1) Next week's meeting will feature District Governor Larry Stimson. Please be sure to attend, and bring friends, spouses or potential members.
(2) Dick Donahue spoke about Bay2bay preparations. He needed two more helpers, who signed up then and there. Please work on getting riders signed up!!
(3) Dick also noted that the new dues invoices no longer indicate the option of making an annual $100 contribution to the Foundation. In the past we have strongly encouraged every member to make this contribution. Please consider doing this even though it's not on the statement!

the roster is at the printer, Yay! Also repairs to his fifth wheel only cost 25 cents. Brian Finnegan's 14th anniversary and a great weekend at their condo in Whistler. Gary Tomsic heard that Brian also fractured his ankle - there was nothing happy about that. Elizabeth Barnard survived a Judas Priest concert, or her hearing did, anyway. FINEMASTER:
Max Legg served as Finemaster this week. He fined Chuck Tull for the bad bell ringing and microphone handling. Dick Donahue for having season tickets to the Mariners. Eric Nelson for being the only guy in a suit. Randy Carr for harassing his patients and also for wearing a
BANNERS:
The theme of the banners was "near and far, "with banners from clubs within 50 miles, and also more than 5,000 miles away. Stan also noted, beside the point, that Jim Bliss's yard has a whole bunch of restored tractors in the front yard.
PROGRAM:
Maggi Kriger from the Whatcom Oral Health Coalition. The WOHC is made up of seventeen partner organizations and approximately 180 individual members. They advocate for children's' dental health, and preventative dentistry for low income children. This is a huge issue which receives very little attention. Tooth decay is the most common form of childhood disease and left untreated, can lead to serious health issues. Much more about the coalition is available at www.HappyTeeth.org.
