MEETING TO ORDER: President Chuck Tull called the meeting to order at 12:30 and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Rick Staab gave the invocation and prayed for good health and the appreciation of Gods gifts
VISITING ROTARIANS: George Tsakumis- Vancouver BC, Jone Moles - B'ham Rotary, Joan Airoldi- B'ham Rotary, Phil Griggs- B'ham Rotary.
GUESTS: Randy Carr introduced Norm Bigerly, Marlene Sexton introduced her two daughters and an itty-bitty baby grand daughter, Tyler Cook induced his wife McKenzie, and Bill Grace introduced his wife Kris
RETURNING ROTARIANS: Dick Donahue brought a banner from the St. Kitts club and a week in St Thomas. Jack Curnow returned from Florida Keys where he had been shopping for a summer home
BIRTHDAYS: Josh Wilhund, Doug Thomas, Dick Nolan, Dick Donahue
FOUNDATION MINUTE: Ken Richardson talked about the Foundations theme of "Bridging World Needs" and the building of foot bridges in Ethiopia.
ANNOUNCMENTS: Joan Airoldi from the Bellingham Club invited all to join their club on Monday Oct 12th 10-3 for blood donations. Sign up was passed p>
Reminder about the Foundation Dinner on Nov 12th. 5:30 social 6PM dinner. Please respond to the email sent for RSVP's. .
The Fund Raising Committee will meet 7 AM, Tuesday morning Oct 13th at Arlis's Restaurant. The members of the Projects Committee are encouraged to attend.
The next Executive Board meeting will be held 7:30 Thursday morning Nov. 5th at Zervas Group Architects.
Tim Carpenter sent an email about a follow-up trip to Honduras for the Mico-Lending Project. Tim can't make it and needs others to pick up the ball
Dick Donahue let it slip that the annual auction fund raiser is planned for March 5, 2010.
The Annual Foundation Dinner Nov. 12th is an evening event, so our regular lunch is cancelled, HOWEVER, we are having committee meetings that day for the Projects Committee, Fund Raising Committee, Career Day Committee, Youth Services Committee, and Membership Committee. If you don't which one's you are on…look in the roster book!
HAPPY BUCKS: Bill Grace gave a happy dollar for Doug's birthday, wood working tools for sale and good weather in Monroe for the car show.
Brian Finnegan gave $10 for the Huskies and a great football game in South Bend against Notre Dame and his wife turning 40.
Rome Sarwas gave happy money for a lot of different football teams.
Tim Carpenter was $1 for an inside joke.
Tim Villhauer was $1 happy to walk to Rotary today
Tyler Cook gave $12 happy dollars for his wedding anniversary.
Dick Donahue $2 for good weather and 2 grandsons.
Marlene Sexton $2 for daughters and grandbaby
Bob Bowman $4 for Marlene's kids and to question why Mel Hollinger was ever made a District Governor. (I just write it the way I hear it, folks)
Jack Curnow $1 for a good outcome on some heart surgery. Jack was also subjected to some trashing about the Huskies win over the Trojans.
Greg Thulin paid for news he was about to go back on crutches after upcoming knee surgery.
Doug Thomas gave $10 for his birthday and an upcoming trip to St. Kitts. (Rough duty, but someone has to do it.)
Paul Cooley is going to be taking a fun filled class at WCC in business math.

FINEMASTER: Greg Thulin did a masterful job of making our wallets lighter...
Julie Johanson for the last one in. - Tim Villhaur for his so called short walk - Jack Curnow because he "doth protest too much" and we think he's a sore looser. - Maureen McCarthy for pretending an audit is "news" - Marlene Sexton for Dr. Phil's brain washing. - Mel's emails were fined â€" Randy Carr was heavily fined for Help Kids email. - Everyone with children teens or younger were fined because someone strapped her child to the roof of a car in cardboard box. - Dr. Gary was fined for health care costs. - Skiers were fined because Greg won't be among them this winter. - And the quiz was "what is the most annoying term"(and the answer is "Whatever")

PROGRAM: Larry Pollett introduced District Governor Larry Jube and his wife Linda. District Gov Larry is from Marysville Rotary Club. He grew up in the Snohomish/Lake Stevens area and has a couple of children attending WWU. District Gov Larry Jube talked at length about his trip to Guatemala and the work that Rotary did of a remote village there. He also spoke of Governors training program and Polio Plus. The theme is "The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands". The District conference is scheduled for May 13-16, 2010 at the new casino hotel at Tulalip. You are invited and encouraged to attend,
DRAWING: Dan Baker had the lucky number AGAIN. Did not draw the ace.
