Announcements
Gary Thomsic was unanimously voted in as our new President Elect.  Applause!
Dan Baker has been approved for a six-month leave of absence which he requested for business reasons (Marlene).
There will be a Foundation Seminar this Saturday, 10/23, at Fox Hall (Marlene).
Happy Bucks and Fines on November 11 will be donated to the Lighthouse Mission for their Thanksgiving Dinner program (Marlene).
Make a Difference Day is this Saturday, 10/23. 9 am to noon. WCNR will be planning trees at Hovander Park.  Check in at the info tent to be directed to fellow club members (Rick).
WCNR will be cleaning up our "adopted" stretch of highway on Saturday, November 13 (Marlene for Dan P).
The WCNR Blood Drive will take place November 1 through November 30 (Marlene).
The Rotary Foundation dinner is November 11.  Please RSVP to Ken.
Raffle tickets are available and ready to sell.  Don't forget we need contact information from those who purchase them (Tim V) The WCNR Auction is March 11, 2011.
 
Happy Bucks
Marlene was happy for having gone wine tasting with her 6th grade teacher.  Bill G for his guest, and for finishing the new addition at his home.  Greg T was happy for a great BBQ feast at his place, which he donated at our last auction.  Brian had scooter bucks and happy bucks for Tim's guest, Sue.  Rocky had bucks (can't remember if they were happy or sad) for the Philly losses.  Maureen thought she better be happy, because she was sitting in Bill G's chair.  Paul was happy for his guest (the speaker) and for the Feed the Need Food Drive.
Julie was happy for Rick's donation to Mel's matching money, which pushed us over the $7K mark.  Tim C was happy for his guest, Sue.  Tim V. was also happy for Tim C's guest, Sue as well as for the raffle tickets, now available.
 
Finemaster Ken Richardson stood in for MISSING Finemaster, Tyler Cooke Ken started with the banners.  Stan's montage this week commemorated United Nations Day.  Marlene was fined for the complexity of her seat assignment system.  Tyler was fined in absentia for failing to show up as finemaster, or to cover his shift.  Jake was fined for NOT being the last one in for a change.  Anyone who hadn't RSVP'd for the Foundation Dinner was fined.  Mariners fans were fined.  Paul C would have been fined for wearing a T-shirt, but wasn't because it was for a good cause (Feed the Need Food Drive).  Marlene was fined for throwing a cookie at the Finemaster.  Maureen was fined for a coworker's dramatic weight loss.  Anyone who hadn't yet sold a raffle ticket was fined.  Anyone not happy that Bill G. had completed his new addition was fined.
 
Guest Speaker
Paul Cooley introduced our speaker, Sarah Kane.  Sarah is currently a Hagen employee and a sophomore at Whatcom Community College.  In 2007 she was sponsored by the Arlington Rotary Club as a Rotary Youth Exchange participant in France.  She shared about relationships she enjoyed, especially with her three host families. She expressed her appreciation for Rotary's Youth Exchange program, and for her unique opportunity to experience life in a foreign country.
