MEETING TO ORDER: President Chuck Tull called the meeting to order at 12:30 and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Dr Gary Snyder gave the invocation and prayed for an end to the epidemic of violence in our county.

GUESTS: Rick Staab introduced Linda Quinn, new at Ferndale School District. Marlene Sexton introduced Rocky Richardson
RETURNING ROTARIANS: None this week
BIRTHDAYS: Paul Cooley, Lex Ludke, George Tsakumis
FOUNDATION MINUTE: Jim Bliss talked about being a Sustaining donor to the foundation for $100.00 a year. Please consider.
ANNOUNCMENTS: Reminder about the Foundation Dinner on Nov 12th. 5:30 social 6PM dinner. Please respond to the email sent for RSVP's.
President Chuck announced that there will be committee meetings at Northwoods Hall for the Fund Raising, Projects, Career, Youth and Membership committees at noon on Nov.12th.
The Fund Raising Committee will meet 7 AM, Tuesday morning Oct 27th at Arlis's Restaurant.
The next Executive Board meeting will be held 7:30 Thursday morning Nov. 5th at Zervas Group Architects.
Donations of books suitable for elementary school would be appreciated.
Nove 14the District Foundation Dinner. Each club is expected to bring an auction item. Let President Chuck know if you have such an item
Tim Carpenter is going to the district meeting and has room in the car if you would like to go too.
HAPPY BUCKS: President Chuck gave a happy dollar of the Huskies win.
Bill Grace gave a happy dollar for his 119th time of donating blood.
Maureen McCarthy gave happy dollar for her first time as Fine Master and for running a half marathon.
Brian Finnegan was happy to surprise his wife with a 40th birthday trip to San Diego trip and advise never to pack for your wife.
Tim Villhauer was $1 happy that his breakfast was paid for at the committee meeting.
George Tsakumis was happy $77 for his birthday.
Tim Carpenter was $4 happy for an upcoming poker game at Jake's.
Rick Staab was $32 happy for his anniversary.
Gary Tomsic was happy that his hospital stay for memory loss was short. Not a stroke, but some kind of seizure.
Tony Cubellis gave some sage advise to not eat Green Papa's
FINEMASTER: Maureen McCarthy took the mic for her first time as fine master .
Maureen started by fining herself for asking Scott Wallace to fill in for her scheduled maiden voyage. Tony Cubellis was fined some more for this comment about Green Papa's. Jim Bliss was fined for his "trick or treat" outfit. Maureen then fined anyone who has called her Marlene and then fined everyone who has called Marlene, Maureen. (get it straight folks, it's been long enough to learn) Chuck was singled out for using the wrong name. Randy Carr was fined for leaving early and a comment about her backpacking outfit. Sharon and Lex were fined because? Ken Richardson was fined of the Lummi Island ferry problems. Finally, Greg Thulin was fined for not dancing more before his knee problems.

PROGRAM: Brian Finnegan introduced Derek Johnson, head of TaTango.com. ,
TaTango is a consultant group on "Social Media" web sites. Derek has given seminars on the business use of the new social media web sites, such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. We had our own mini seminar given at Rotary Club and Derek fielded many questions on what is the hot topic of this explosive new networking environment. If you missed this one, you've got some catching up to do. Thanks for a great and timely program.
DRAWING: Bill Grace had the luck ticket today. Did not draw the ace.
