Announcements
• Lots of birthdays, including some BIGGIES! Mel to be 96! Jim Blaney to be 90! Others with birthdays were Jeannie, Rollo, Jake and President Gary.
• Laurie reached her 5-year anniversary, Dan his 10th and Bill Grace his 26th.
• The International Projects Committee will meet on June 26.
• The Installation Dinner is June 28. $20 per person. Please RSVP!
• Tickets will be distributed for the Rubber Duck Derby. Event is August 25. There will be LOTS of other duties, including selling tickets.
• No meeting on June 14 due to evening BBQ. Please RSVP for June 14 BBQ. BYOB, and bring a pot luck dish to share.
• Norm auctioned off four Woodland Park Zoo tickets and a Dinner and a Movie Package, both courtesy of Rollo. Marlene was highest bidder for the former, and Tim V. the latter. Thanks Norm, Rollo, Marlene and Tim.

Fines were issued for: anyone who hadn’t been to Club Runner to RSVP for BBQ or installation dinner, anyone NOT wearing uncomfortable dress shoes, anyone without 100% attendance, anyone who did not bring a guest this week and anyone who’d never volunteered for JA. Also for Dan who honked at Tim but didn’t offer him a ride. For Dale, not being happy for hockey. For Melanie, to welcome her back and for not bringing her baby. Ken for not giving Tim a head start selling Rubber Duckie tickets. To Sharon for being the last one in. To Jake for wearing white socks with dress pants. To Chuck for visiting so many relatives on one trip. To Norm, who’s on the “naughty not nice” list (???).
No fine for Jim Blaney, headed off for an annual reunion of Bomber Pilots, nor for Stan who loaned Tim a book, nor for Bill Grace who puts on one heck of a car show.

Our speaker was Gretchen Pflueger, M.Ed. Gretchen is the Regional Director for Junior Achievement (JA). JA’s goal is to empower young people to create their own economic success. Their main challenges include students who are unprepared, educations not trained to teach them and financial illiteracy in the workplace. Through its programs in schools, staffed largely by volunteers, JA reaches over 6,000 students per year in Whatcom County.
