Meeting to Order:
President Tim led us in the flag salute. Gary Snyder gave the invocation.
Visiting Rotarians:

Birthdays:
Laurie Lloyd will celebrate her birthday on June 29th. Happy Birthday, Laurie!

Apparently everyone stayed put this week.
Announcements:
Tim V. reminded us that the meeting on the 16th will be at Randy Carr's Office. (3400 Squalicum Parkway, #107). Also that the induction will be held at the lunch meeting on the 23rd. Bring family and friends. Tim also announced that he wants to be King of WCNR and will not be giving up his title (until Chuck returns). A reminder that you can advertise in the District Roster. If you wish to take out an ad, see Tim V. There will be no work party this weekend (Meridian High School.) Plan B is being developed and promises to be "bigger, better, and more elegant." Stay tuned for details. Tim C. gave us the real date for GOLFUN and the real date is August 21st, which is a Friday. The cost is $100.00 and it benefits the Rotary Foundation. It is being held at Surrey Golf Club, (same as last year) and promises to be a good time. See Tim C. for more details. Tim also discussed contributions to be made to Rotary Foundation. The goal is to have every member donate $100. A suggestion was made to think about giving a donation in a loved one's name instead of buying them a gift they probably don't need. There will be a reminder to donate when we get our bills for dues and meals.
Happy Bucks:
Rich J. started off with $24 to celebrate 24 years of wedded bliss with Robyn. Congratulations! Scott W. was happy to have a new roommate.his four month old granddaughter who eliminates the need for an alarm clock. Bill G. donated blood.3 more trips through the blood bank will net him a 15 gallon pin. Bill was also happy about a trip to Coupeville with nieces and nephews and finding out that one of his nephews is consulting for Baron Communications (Phil Bratt). Phil was $1.00 happy for this, as well. Paul C. gave $22 for 22 years with Donna. They celebrated their anniversary by going to the "Tragically Hip" rock and roll show in Seattle. Josh was happy for his guest Levi as well as a successful fundraiser for the B&G club, which made over $200,000! Ray G. was happy to have attended the Jr. Livestock show and encouraged people to buy an animal for the freezer and to see him about an upcoming show on August 21st. Lex was happy that his daughter graduated from WASU and was hired immediately by a marketing firm. Rome was happy that his granddaughter graduated from H.S. and will be going off to college on scholarships. Scott W. was happy about a profile in the Herald about someone's (Jeanne's) photography biz.
Finemaster:
Scott Piper could not be found (but will be fined) so Scott W. took it for the team and fined Jeanne first for not mentioning her Herald write-up. Tim C. got fined for having his money out of his wallet, Marlene had to make good on an IOU from last week, and Phil was fined for only being $1 happy about his Bill's consulting nephew. Despite not being prepared to fine people, Tim C. ratted out Greg T. and Randy C. for their e-mails suggesting and supporting polygamy. (This costs the polygamists $5.00 & Greg whined that, "Randy started it." Despite Bob B's delight that the Wallace rule has not been suspended, he was still fined for suggesting that Scott W. lacked techno skills. (Apparently, Scott had a little trouble transferring phone calls.) Sgt @ Arms Josh and Dick N. were fined $5 each for skipping out on last week's duties. (Both claimed excused absences.) Nancy and Jake were fined for sealing the deal on getting the Captain of the Wizard to be our guest speaker on July 23rd. (This is the "star" of the Deadliest Catch.) Rich was ratted out for immediately texting his son about this news.Jack C. was the eagle eye that noticed this. Everybody who hasn't given blood was fined. Gary T. claims he gives blood every day! Gary Snyder was fined for his fancy convertible. Tim C. shared his embarrassment about the lack of enthusiasm surrounding the U.S.'s win against Spain in some unknown sport..Jack C. claims that all over America, there were "tens of people" that cared.

Program:
Our speaker today was Bellingham native Craig Henderson. In 1986, Craig and his co-designer, Bill Green were entered in the Guinness Book of World Records as having the most fuel efficient car, which got 103.7 mpg. In October of 2008, they broke their own record and redesigned the Avion and set the record at 113mpg. Currently they are in the running to win the $10 million dollar "Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize." The winners will design and build a production capable, 100 mpg vehicle that people can buy that meets market needs for cost, size, capability, safety, and performance. (Bullfrog Boats is currently a sponsor, but they are still looking for more corporate and personal sponsors.)
