MEETING TO ORDER: President Chuck called the meeting to order. Pete Kremen gave the invocation, asking for special assistance in resolving some tax issues.
VISITING ROTARIANS: Joe O'Brien, Mark Turner, Jeanne McGee and George Tskumis.
GUESTS: Marlene's guest: Jonathan Hutchins, Scott Wallace's guest: Marge Laidlaw.

FOUNDATION MINUTE: Stan gave a minute about the Annual Programs Fund.
ANNOUNCMENTS: (1) Foundation dinner next week FRIDAY, the 25th. No meeting on Thursday the 24th., Yes, there will be a no-host bar beginning at 5:30.
(2) The Grand Opening of the Ferndale boys and Girls Club took place yesterday, June 16th. Many members attended and were all impressed by how nice the club is, and especially about the great job that was done on the Metcalf Teen Center. A plaque recognizing our club and all of the individual donors will be prominently displayed.
(3) Marlene and Julie have gone to the International Convention, and hopefully will be coming back with some great ideas for projects that the club can do with Mel's donation and matching funds.
(4) Short board meeting after today's club meeting.
SPECIAL EVENTS: (1) The Whatcom Literacy Council was awarded with a $4,000 check for the purchase of new computers. Joe O'Brien in turn presented President Chuck with a framed certificate of appreciation for all the work the club has done for the WLC.
(2) Larry Raney, having completed all the requirements for new members, was awarded his permanent badge.
HAPPY BUCKS: Winton for a trip to Prince Rupert, and $284,000 in Scottish Rite scholarships. Winton will be president of the scholarship committee this year. Bill for the Boys and Girls Club, and all the other great projects our club has done. Also because they poured concrete for his addition this week. Rick, for the Boys and Girls Club Doug, for the Boys and Girls Club, and explained about the plaques and signs that will honor Dick Metcalf. Larry for his blue badge. Dick Nolan: His grandson will be going to UW. Laurie for her Granddaughters prize in high point. Pete R., for getting his boat repaired and setting out for the summer. He'll be back in September. Greg I., for 32 years of marriage, Tyler for a non-rainy day. Ken was happy that Paul and Tyler finally have matching shirts. Paul was happy for his 23rd anniversary and a trip to Montana, Rome for sewage being dumped into Lake Whatcom. Tony missed the Boys and Girls Club event, Stan was happy for all the people who want to be a Facebook Friend, but he has no idea what to do about it.
FINEMASTER: Greg Thulin served as finemaster. He did not have anyone specific to single out so he levied a number of group fines: Anyone with a septic system, anyone who has not been to a graduation event or party, anyone who's kids are out of school, or who doesn't have kids, anyone who actually cares about the NBA playoffs, Soccer fans, especially those who like the buzzing horns, Boat owners, Boat owners who have not been out yet, anyone who pre-ordered an iPhone, anyone who's not yet on a committee for next year, or who doesn't know.
BANNERS: The banners represented both the fact that Flag Day is this week, and the history of the development of the United States flag.
PROGRAM: Nancy Tiemen introduced Mary Lynn Palmer BSN and Erika Stanley, MSW who are from the St. Joseph Hospital Adult Day Health Center. The center provides four services: Adult Day Health Programs, Active Adult Programs, Family Caregiver Support Services, and Extend Hours Care. Their purpose is to help meet the needs of community members who have Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia, are in fragile health or need nursing care, need to maintain or regain physical abilities, are lonely or isolated, or are Family caregivers who are in need of support.
