MEETING TO ORDER:  President Marlene Sexton called the meeting to order at 12:30 with Rick Staeb giving the invocation and we all recited the 4-way test.

ACCOUNCEMENTS:
 Bowling Event, Monday, February 28 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Park Bowl
 Bring donations, including dessert, for the March 11 auction
 The Board agreed to sponsor another club in the North County< Dick Donahue will lead this effort
 Lex Ludke resigned from the club and will re-assess in 6 months whether he is able to re-join
 Please bring your saws, hammers, crow bars, and hand tools to the upcoming planned event with NW Therapeutic Riding Center on 2/26; see Bill Grace or Laurie Lloyd for more information.
 There is a literacy seminar planned for March 26; the cost is $35.  See Marlene for more details.
 Rotary Leadership Institute is planned for March 12 in Mt. Vernon
 District Assembly is scheduled for April 9; see Marlene or Julie for more information.
 Bill Grace's car club is holding their annual car show on May 29.
 Tyler needs more presenters for the March 31 career fair.  Currently has only 4 presenters confirmed.
 Condolences to Gary Tomsic on the passing of his mother

HAPPY BUCKS:

 Marlene was happy for the Valentine's Day dance and happily remembered her father who would have been 80th birthday
 Brien Finnegan said the dance was great and he's really happy that his wife has returned from work/fun travels.
 Jerry happy for the great party.
 Ken Richardson thanks us for condolences for his mother in law
 Bill Grace happy for Whatcom in Bloom
 Tim Villhauer was happy for last Saturday's event and creaming Dan Parsons on gift certificate acquisition
 Julie had fun at the dance
 Dale's daughter won her last soccer game of the season and scored the winning goal!
 Stan happy his grandson returned to good health following surgery and just became great, great grand dad for the second time
 Jake happy for the new baby of a close friend of his family
 Ray George was happy for Saturday's dance and will have Facebook photos posted later today (yikes!)
 Rick Staeb told us a story about a "butt call" to his sister that occurred by bumping his cell phone in his pocket while he called for his cat "girly-girl"  He thought that his cat was quietly responding to him!
 Laurie donated $10 for not going to the dance
 Dick Donahue said thanks for supporting the new club and is looking forward to starting it

FINEMASTER:  Ken Richardson made lots of money this week.
 Any who talked to him in the last 4 days about ferry boats
 New members who still had red badges but have met all their requirements-Sharon was fined
 Those who did not attend the dance
 Norm paid for his outstanding cha cha skills
 Those who did not attend yesterday's board meeting
 Whoever memorized the 4-way test paid $1 and $2 for those who did not
 Jake was fined for being the last person in and for giving too much information for happy bucks
 Bill Grace paid for taking over Laurie's announcement
 Those that did not bring an auction item
 Those who are not attending wine tasting on Friday
 And finally the "Butt dial" by Rick Staeb.we all learned a new phrase

PROGRAM: New member talks..Welcome to these great new members: 

Melanie Mohammad shared family information about her husband attending Western Washington University and her three children.  Service is a big piece of her life and she also makes it an important element of her family as well.  She is an eastern Washington native where she grew up and received her education before starting her career in banking. She is currently a district manager for Whatcom and Skagit US Banks.  Formerly a Spokane young Rotary she is happy to be back in the Rotary family with us.

Dale Holt was a member of the Bellinghan Bay Rotary prior to taking a sabbatical while in school.  When he returned he joined our club. Yeh!!!  He has been married for 22 years and has a 13 year old daughter.  Dale is a Canadian citizen who was born in England. He and his family moved to Canada when he was four years old and he grew up in White Rock, BC where he played soccer as a child.  He currently  plays on a local hockey team.  He started in banking after an initial career as a brick layer.  Dale is currently with Whidbey Island Bank.
