ANNOUNCMENTS:Paul Cooley announced the career fair, which will be held tomorrow, March 30th.Volunteers need to be there by 7:30 a.m. and presenters need to be there by 9:00 a.m.Bill Grace announced the upcoming "car show" to be held on Ski to Sea weekend at BoulevardPark.Also, he is working on a roster update so it you have anything that needs to be changed please contact him.Jerry Landcastle thanked everyone for attending the Ferndale Community Photo and especially Lex Ludtke for holding the WCNR Banner.Tim Carpenter announced that there will be a meeting of the Fundraising Committee right after the regular meeting today.Ken Richardson introduced Past District Governor Dave Robinson who congratulated Tim & Lynn Carpenter and Gary & Diane Cordrey for their contributions to the Rotary Foundation.Finally, four tickets to Wednesday night's game between the Mariner's and the Oakland Athletics were donated by Dick Donahue.Doug Thomas purchased them for $100.
HAPPY BUCKS:Bill Grace for the great weather and for being able to mow his lawn.Greg Thulin for surviving last weeks PETS training session and his wife going to Florida leaving him home alone.Gary Cordrey was happy his wife made it through surgery okay and for Randy Carr's new baby.Brian Finnegan is happy his sister is okay after her mysterious illness and for skiing at Whistler and he toasted the "missing Rotarian".District Governor Dave Robinson is happy to be here today.Paul Cooley is happy for his recovering employee and the "good looking" comment from Bob Bowman.Tim Carpenter primed us for his upcoming presentation on his Honduras trip by showing a CD that has no less than 290 photos on it.Bob Bowman was not happy his daughter is away on vacation because he has to take care of his own dogs.Rose Abbaspour was happy to spend 6-days with her oldest daughter.Doug Thomas is happy about the seven-year contract recently signed by Tony Bennett at WSU and for the nice weather.David Engels was happy to announce that on Monday April 2nd he will begin working for Bank of the Pacific as their new Credit Risk Officer.Dan Parsons was happy to be celebrating the first anniversary of he and Randy Carr's twice weekly run/walk and he asked that they now be referred to as "fat man and little boy", although he didn't say which one of them is little boy.Rick Staeb is happy for the Cascade Radio Group's partnership with Whatcom Transit Authority.Ken Richardson was happy that past District Governor Dave Robinson was attending today's meeting.
FINEMASTER:Today's Honorable Finemaster was Larry Pollett.Today's theme was the Rotary Magazine.Scott Wallace knew that a glass of clear water was on the cover.Max Legg knew that the "toast" was in seven languages.Dan Parsons did not know what was inside the cover and then his fine was doubled because he tried to cheat with Randy Carr.Rich Jacobson had a lucky guess that the Focus Topic was on Service.I didn't hear the next question but Scott Piper, Jerry Landcastle and Gary Snyder each gave wrong answers.The correct answer was how you treat our planet to keep it green.Dr. Lehnert was heavily fined for something about who reads the magazine.Snow skiers were asked to stand up and tell us where the snow pictured in the magazine was located.Nine skiers did not know the answer, which was Alyeska.Jack Curnow was fined for making a derogatory remark about WSU.All WSU fans were fined for the basketball coach's new seven-year contract.Jerry Landcastle was fined for running for another term as Ferndale Mayor and was asked if he was being endorsed by the Bellingham Herald.Pete Kremen and Dewey Dessler were both fined because of something to do with the Septic Tank issue.Everyone who has a septic tank was fined if they hadn't cleaned it in the last week.All Democrats were asked to stand and were fined for not working better with the Republicans.Tim Carpenter, a self proclaimed "Libertarian" stood with the Democrats as a show of solidarity.
