MEETING TO ORDER: President Tim Villhauer called the meeting to order at 12:32 and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Gary Snyder gave the invocation and thanked God for his grandson's return from Korea.

VISITING ROTARIANS: George Tsakumis from the Vancouver Club, Fred Sexton and John Moles from the Bellingham Club, Jeanne McGee from Melaque Mexico and Mead Smith from Seattle #4 Club.

GUESTS: Stan's lovely wife Margaret Brunner

BIRTHDAYS: None to announce today

RETURNING ROTARIANS: Randy Carr has returned from San Antonio where they still know how to play football.

ACCOUNCEMENTS:

Ken Richardson reminded us of the club Foundation dinner on Thursday November 13^th. Bring you spouse. No afternoon meeting that day.
Tim Carpenter had pictures on the tables from a news paper written in Spanish extolling the Adelante Foundation Grant.
Laurie Lloyd, Projects Committee Chair, announced that the Whatcom Humane Society has been selected to receive our hands on attention. Seems they usually get two or three horses a year and this year they have had seventeen. We have committed to build five, three sided field shelters. Your hammer is needed now because winter is coming fast. Please call or email Laurie to schedule your time.

HAPPY BUCKS: President Tim started out with $2 for being out of town for the Foundation Dinners. Jack Curnow gave a PPB for the way football is currently played in Pullman. Bill Grace gave $2 for two new cats. Rome Sarwas was happy. Tim Villhauer was happy to give again about Iowa football. George Tsakumis was happy about having more women at his table. Scott Wallace was happy about a successful goose hunt, and not so happy about having his car wrecked by a rear end collision on I-5. Greg Thulin was very pleased to remark what a wonderful dinner he had at Marlene Sexton's house that he had purchased at the auction. Eric was $2 happy about two weeks with some friends from Scotland. Sharon Robinson was happy about the Texas Tech Raiders.

FINEMASTER: Jack Curnow had a rousing good time handing out fines. He started out with a $5 fine for Scott Wallace for the "Wallace Rule". Tim Carpenter was fined for not having enough of his hand-outs on the tables. Jake Smith and George Myiow were fined for dropping their Country Club memberships thus making Jack's dues increase. A $5 IOU fine was added for Roger Lehnert's unjustified "Jack" fine. Dan Parsons was fined for being a table discussing Public Policy Center "think tank". Dick Nolan was fined for not knowing Maureen McCarthy's name. Visitor Fred Sexton got the last man in $2 fine (welcome to Whatcom North Fred). Jake Smith got the nice guy fine. John Moles was fined $2 for not standing when introduced (welcome to Whatcom North John). President Tim was fined for not giving Gary Snyder the microphone. Laurie Lloyd got a horse people fine. Brian Finnegan was fined for doubting Jack. Bill Grace was fined for complaining more about cats than kids. Finally, Leah Macaleer was fine for cats to.

PROGRAM: Dick Nolan introduced Ted Gemmer. Ted is a WWU student who attended this years Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp this summer. The camp was held somewhere in very north Langley B.C. where they don't have cell phone coverage. Ted emphasized how much hugging went on. Ted is an accounting student at WWU and former valedictorian from Arlington's LakewoodHigh School. Ted became involved through Julie Johanson's office at Metcalf Hodges. The camp had about fifty enrolled with approximately 10 counselors or "facilitators". This was a three day program. Ted engaged the club by soliciting questions and the club was glad to oblige.

DRAWING: Eric Nelson drew a card. Not a winner.

NEXT WEEK'S PROGRAM: Craig Henderson (Bull Frog Boats) will talk about Dr. Seal's legacy automotive program at WWU and the new Avion Automobile. Dick Nolan says this is a program you won't want to miss.
