MEETING TO ORDER: President Chuck called the meeting to order.
INVOCATION: Sharon Robinson gave the invocation.
RETURNING ROTARIANS: Marlene is back from a cruise in Alaska with her 50-year friend.
VISITING ROTARIAN: Bob Knight from Snohomish.
FOUNDATION MINUTE: Given by Jim Bliss.
ANNOUNCMENTS: Visioning for the club, September 17th, evening meeting.
Bring your spouse and make it a date night if they are interested in the club's direction.
Board meeting on 9/3/09 at Zervas Group's Office.
Bill Grace - roster is done. Swap meet happening 10/10/09. See handouts for More info.
Ray George - His daughter is here from the fair. There are still opportunities to donate to the 4H/FFA group.
HAPPY/SAD BUCKS: Randy - loss of Brett Allsop. Greg T - dinner with Tyler and family. Scott W: 7 mo. Old granddaughter, and some crabbing. Brian - Kaylee's first birthday. Lex - the good work of the food banks. Jack - he only had minor heart surgery and is feeling better now. Dick N. - the sunshine and driving his roadster. Stan - his daughter is about 64 years older than Brian's, Gary - good to be home. Jerry - His grandson's achievements. Jeanne - a prestigious photography award. Mel -happy to be the only one at the table not happy. Dan - Happy he had a potential boat purchase surveyed before buying. Tim - just $5 to be happy at that happy table. Ray - a successful fair.
FINEMASTER: Scott Wallace: Banners first: Tim C. knew this one - the fair. Stan - fined for knowing the English language better than most of us. Anyone who did NOT have two cookies is fined. Anyone who did not go to the fair. Anyone who has not had to drive the Guide roundabouts. Don't usually fine guests, but Bob was REALLY late. Anyone who can't name the Rotarian cover.
PROGRAM: Rosemary Vos, a storyteller, speaker, and author of children's literature spoke to us about public speaking and ways to overcome "platform panic," or "stage fright." She gave a very engaging and informative talk. It's clear she does not have a problem with speaking. She noted that her goal in helping speakers, is to "get the butterflies flying in formation."
Drawing: Ken Richardson AGAIN had his ticket picked, but drew the 8 of spades.
