September Board Meeting Highlights
Highlights from the September SEMR Board Meeting include:
Secretary’s Report (Judith Underwood)
§ Currently 64 active members (including two new members and one resignation this month) and 4 honorary members.
§ Attendance is averaging 91.2% so far for this year.
§ The board approved the following as qualifying for a meeting make-up:
o Attendance at social functions including firesides
o Rotary meetings with 3 or more members in attendance
o Legitimate Rotary service projects – no minimum number of members in attendance required
o Projects extending over more than one day – credit for each day of attendance
Treasurer’s Report (Sharon Berry)
- The Vintage Aircraft Show food booth brought in a gross of $2,526, less $1,160 in expenses, for a total net profit of $1,366.
President’s Report (Steve Shea)
- Meeting locations: The September 30th meeting will be at Legion Golf Club coinciding with the Golf Tournament. The October 21st meeting is being moved to Children’s Village on Casino Road.
- Nominations are being solicited for an Assistant District Governor to replace Lyle Ryan. The nominee must be a past president.
- Rotary Leadership Institute will be held September 24th in
Community Service (Martin Cross)
- Dan Leach reported that the Beach Clean-up will be in October….stay tuned.
Fund Allocation (Mark Kendziorek)
The following recommendations by the Fund Allocation Committee were approved by the Board:
- Snohomish Red Cross: $1,000 for emergency funds to aid displaced people in disasters.
- Heartbeat Serving Wounded Warriors: $2,500 aide in the rehabilitation of wounded veterans who served in
Golf Tournament (Bill Murray)
Only 65 golfers are registered, with an additional 20 commitments. The goal for success is 144 golfers. There are currently 4 sponsors. Bill has to give a head count to the golf course this Friday.
