The Rotary Club of Busselton Geographe Bay has teamed up with the local Dominos franchise to offer some “pizza therapy” for the hard-pressed staff of Busselton’s three aged-care facilities.
The Club donated $1500 towards the supply of enough pizzas to feed up to 500 people. Dominos provided a $400 discount on the pizzas and threw in free garlic bread and cheesy garlic scrolls.
Vouchers for a total of 140 extra-large pizzas, 35 cheesy garlic scrolls and 35 serves of garlic bread were given to the Capecare, William Carey Baptist Care and Ellenvale aged care centres.
Rotary has also sponsored free coffee visits to each of the three centres by local mobile coffee vendor, the New Beaut Coffee Ute.
Club president Ross Johnston said the club wanted to do something to express community appreciation for the efforts of our frontline health care workers during the Covid 19 crisis.
“These workers have been under a lot of pressure because of the lockdowns in our nursing homes and aged care facilities”, he said. “We thought they might appreciate a little something to help them through their busy days.”
