Thanks to Colleen I., Betty B., Bob G. and Betsy B. for being grillers and servers at the Collaboration and Communication event at the High School last night.  This important “Talk and Conversation” about drugs continues our club’s efforts to combat illegal drug use in our community.  In addition, several workers were recruited for this weekend’s food stand!
 
  1. (Bob G.) Comments on visiting Rotary contribution sites with DG Kola following last week’s meeting were shared.  Once again, Kola remarked about the impact our club makes in the community!
     
  2. (Bob G.) Meals on Wheels this week, July 17-20. Just a reminder, no more volunteer needed.
     
  3. (Bob G.) Volleyball Tournament is this weekend. July 20-22 (Fri-Sun).  Tim W. is coordinating our involvement.  A reminder clip board was passed. We need a “griller” on Sat. from 12pm – 4pm and a “worker” from 3:30pm– 6:30pm.
     
  4. (Bob G.) Plans for 5th Tuesday Social, July 31st will be announced at the July 24th meeting.
     
  5. (Bob G./Debbie P.) Update on Rotary shirts – our wardrobe director, Debbie P., hopes to drop them off at Neshotah Park on Friday around 10:30am.  As such, they should be available to wear while working at our food stand.  We will be the best dressed at the fest.
     
  6. (Bob G.) July Planning Calendar - We are beginning our annual school supply drive.   We are planning on Lauretta K-O. for leadership of this project.  Thank you!
 
  1. (Bob G.) Reminder that the collection box for recycling items for The Haven will be at each meeting.  Details are on our website and in the eBulletin.  We are off to a good start.

  1. (Bob G.) Next Meeting –Jim Lester .will provide a book review giving us insights on happiness. You don’t want to miss this one!  Greeter is Steve R.

Program – Ned J. introduced Matt Schliesman, Executive Director of the CCC – the”Jewel of the Lakeshore”  With 72 events presented during the 2017-18 season, the CCC is fulfilling the vision first expressed in 1986-87 when it was brought back to life.  Matt outlined an ambitious campaign, ACT TWO, with the goal to make the CCC the best modern, historic venue on the lakeshore.
