Weekly Meeting Notes May 23, 2019

Sergeant-at-Arms/Bragging Rights:  Dick was the guy today, no bragging rights were requested, just announcements. 

• Ben thanked the club for the significant support of the Walk4Water event, which resulted in the CHS Global Studies club clearing over $5,000.   If you would like to make that number go even higher, please CLICK HERE and select the red "Make A Donation" button to support this cause that aligns very closely with Rotary International's clean water initiative.
•  Julie thanked the members that showed up last Saturday to help sort 33k pounds of food for Family Sharing's pantry.
• Jeff Knorr said we are still in need of one last RMF volunteer--to work the north gate where the corps enter and leave the field.  Please let him know at an upcoming meeting if you can help after.
• Dave shared that he was at the CCSF scholarship award night at CHS last night and just wanted to share what a great community we have.  Chris added a thank you to the Beverung family, as his son Ben was the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from the Bud Beverung Sr. Memorial Fund.
• James wanted to share some "musings" from his table, starting with Chris asking Courtney if she was acting President today, to the dismay of the others at the table, of which James was one.  Apparently the decorative sportcoat Chris noticed in his periphery made him think James was Don, or else Chris was possibly too fixated on visually turning his lunch entrée from shrimp into meat loaf.  PJS then went on to share he overhead Jeff Knorr say "I like the vibration", closing with Ryan sharing with PJS that he is "done harassing him now".
• Enter Chad Curran on that segue, for the Curran vs. Olsen pt. 2 war of words.   Chad stood up to justify how a loaf of bread costs $200 at PW,.  He presented a lengthy receipt totaling $234, with a "half-loaf of bread for $1.99" highlighted on it.  (First--wouldn't that make a full loaf of bread $400, and second, who in the world buys a half-loaf of bread?)  He closed with how glad he was that Ryan made weekly meetings two weeks in a row.  Ryan's response was simply "Chad gets up to talk at Rotary only because Regina won't let him talk at home".  Be there next week for more chest-thumping from these two.
• Jim Pape's phone rang.
• Dick reminded everyone that Maxwell Street Days is this weekend, so be sure to come and support the fire department and buy a half-of-a-brat.
• Linda will have the summer schedule sign up sheet out soon, so look for that and reach out to her to save the date you want to host.
• Next week is our last indoor lunch for the season at Galioto's, featuring the GHS Jazz Ensemble.
