We were fortunate to be joined at our meeting by Mrs Donna Bunyan, Head of Learning Area– Science, St Norbert College and Arya, Nicola, Email and Bella -the four students we sponsored to attend the Science Challenge at Murdoch University

Year 10 students from eight schools attended the day, which was to promote STEM subjects for future pathways. It was the first time St Norberts had entered the competition, and a fantastic effort from the girls saw them finish in second place. There were two parts of the day - with groups of four participating in two activities. The team competed in the Fish Trap challenge (making a fish trap from 3d printed sticks and rocks) and building a Wind Turbine from cardboard, paper, skewers and masking tape. We heard how the team worked together to complete the challenges and also enjoyed seeing what other students did. Thanks to the girls for sharing their experiences - and also their goals for the future.
