At our meeting this morning we welcomed two visitors, sang happy birthday, received an update on what we know about Regionalisation Project and started planning our Olympics event.
It may look like we're not doing much, but we had a busy morning this morning. It was a pleasure to welcome two guests to our meeting - Sue and Ann (a member of our Satellite Club). We also wished Ann a happy birthday.
Jodie provided an update regarding the Regionalisation Project all clubs are involved in. It appears that we are still able to continue to do the great things we are already doing, and also there are possibilities for us to work with other clubs in our Cluster (17 of them). There are changes at the District level with the removal of the Assistant Governor positions, and the implementation of the Community Leaders roles.
We also toasted two Rotary clubs in India. We have been regularly toasting another club somewhere else in the world, but today we toasted two clubs. We have been working our way through the alphabet and today we toasted clubs starting with the letter M. Mike tried to fool us with the first club mentioned being the Rotary Club of Bombay (but we weren't fooled as Bombay is now known as Mumbai - it's traditional name). The other Club was the Mumbai Elegant Rotary Club - a vibrant club of all women who do amazing stuff in their community. Thanks Mike for giving us an insight into the work of both clubs.
And if that was not enough, we also started planning some games we could be playing at our Olympics event to be held next month - just prior to the real Olympics starting in Paris. It should be a fun evening.
