As a regular feature of our meetings, we have been working our way through the alphabet - toasting a Rotary Club somewhere else in the world.
This morning we toasted the Sunrise Rotary Club of Tallahassee, Florida. This is a club that I visited when I was leading a Group Study Exchange to Florida back in 2007. Their club meets on Tuesday mornings and was chartered about 15 years after we were. They have a few more members than us (about 90) and their club motto is "Do Good, Have Fun". Some of their members actually hosted the team that I took and stayed with them for the few days we were in Tallahassee. What a trip down memory lane for me!
Some of the great work they are involved in include: delivering Meals on Wheels meals, running an annual Bowling event, helping out with Youth Camps, assisting building ramps for people with mobility issues; walking to find a cure for Alzheimers. These are just some of the great ways they are supporting their local community.
We wish them all the very best for the new Rotary year.
