Kero O'Shea is no stranger to Ascot.  He has been here before talking about how we can better connect with people to help them find out more about the amazing work we Rotarians are engaged in.

Today's visit was no different - in that he wanted to talk about how we can do better.  This time he was also able to tell us of some great new initiatives that the District will be providing to help us take our own steps to engage or re-engage with people we might be interested in supporting our club.  Despite a decrease in membership in this part of the world people are engaging in volunteering in increasing numbers.  We have to find a way to tap into those people and introduce them to Rotary.

The District's 3 Year Plan gives ideas and strategies that we can use to get going now to create different categories of membership; to reconnect with people who have been involved in Rotary programs in the past, such as Group Study Exchange members, Youth Exchange partipants, RYLA, RYPEN, Interact, Rotaract members.  Many of these people have had life changing experiences through the programs they have been involved in but have never been invited to look at joining Rotary.

Thanks Kero, there were certainly a number of ideas that we can pick up on and get active about.
