At our last meeting in August we had Anthea Lawrence from Little Things for Tiny Tots as our guest speaker.  She is seen here with club member, Kerry.
Anthea has been with Little Things for Tiny Tots for about 18 months and is very passionate about what they do.  They provide boxes of items for babies and young toddlers.  These boxes are affectionately called 'little boxes of hope'.  The recipients of these boxes are usually people who are struggling financially due to unexpected hardships and are delighted to be able to use the contents to support their young babies.  The boxes are set up for 0-6 month olds or 6 - 12 month olds and usually include clothing, bathing equipment, and also a toy and a book.

They have helped over 7,000 families this year and have over 1,000 volunteers who source, sort, pack and deliver these boxes to various community agencies who provide these items to those in need.  The organisation has been going for about 10 years and they work with other community groups and government agencies to provide these items to those in need.  So far this year they have saved some 10,000 kgs from being sent to landfill as they are happy to accept 'slightly' used clothing items.

If you would like more information, or can help in any way, I'm sure Anthea would love to hear from you.  She can be contacted via their email:  vicechair@littlethings.org.au or go to their website:  www.littlethings.org.au

Thank you Anthea for letting us know about the amazing work that you and your team are doing.  All the very best for the future.
