Usually for our International Toast we head overseas to find a Rotary Club that we want to acknowledge for the work that they do, but this week we decided to go local - and our Club President, Jodie, picked the Narrogin Rotary Club.
The Narrogin Rotary Club is a similar size to our club and meets every second Monday night at the Duke of York Hotel in Narrogin. They have been members of Rotary International for over 75 years so is older than our club. They recently, along with 3 other neighbouring clubs pooled some funds to provide fee accommodation for people from the country who have to come to the city for cancer treatment. What a blessing for those who need it.
They also loved doing sausage sizzles to raise funds for their youth, including sending them to Rotary Youth Leadership Camps, overseas exchanges, local community initiatives, including a new project providing a first-aid kid for every young driver who passes their driving test locally. A great community project.
