Award 1 - President Hugh attended the Starick breakfast last Thursday; he received, on behalf of the Club, the Spirit of Starick Award and a banner signifying “The Greater Good Award” for the contribution we have made to Starick. Over two years our Club has contributed $60,000 for a very worthy cause. We have provided two support vehicles and contributed to the “Safe at Home Program”.
Award 2 -Assistant Governor Rick Sneeuwjagt was welcomed to the meeting and made a presentation to
Ascot from Eric Schmelling, the Chief Philanthropy Officer of Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
The Club received a banner in recognition of the members’ generous support of the Annual Fund.
Rotary Club of Ascot, distinguished from more than 35,000 Rotary Clubs as being the following:
· One of only 1,550 clubs to achieve Top three highest in Per Capita Annual in giving, in our district. (placed second this year)
· Ascot is one of only 3,400 clubs worldwide to attain the status of an, Every Rotarian, Every Year Club.
· One of only 4,000 clubs worldwide to become a 100% Foundation Giving Club.
