This morning members of our club had the opportunity to enjoy a vocational visit to Headspace, Cannington.  Community Engagement Officer, Genna was a wonderful host.
Genna spent some time telling us about the service they provide for 12 - 25 year olds who have mental health issues that prevent them from leading a full and productive life.  It is an incredibly valuable resource in our community, particularly when  the statistics show that one in every 4 young people in this age bracket, experience some kind of mental health challenge.  Over a continental breakfast we discussed some of the areas they work in and other agencies they work with to provide support if they can't.  We also saw that there were some opportunities that could open up for us to work collaboratively especially in the Belmont area (as the Cannington office spreads its wings out that far).
Thanks Genna for a great session this morning.  We are much more aware of the work you do and appreciate the great work you do with our young people in need.  Well done.
