We were saddened to hear the news that long time Rotarian and member of our Club, passed away at the age of 89 on January 16, 2022.

During his time with Rotary he especially was instrumental in the World Help Network, that does great work getting medical supplies to places in the world that need it.  They collect surplus supplies and organize shipping containers to deliver to countries that are in need.  He also enjoyed his change to attend a Rotary International conference in the 90s in Calgary and shared this positive experience with fellow Rotarians over the years.

Dick Hopper made huge contributions to the community through his efforts with Rotary as well as other volunteer roles within our community at the  Langley Good Times Cruise-In, Big Brothers Big Sisters, various Langley City parades, Community Days, Douglas Park Community School, the Salvation Army, and local Christmas bureau.  He was named Langley’s Citizen of the Year in 2004 and was the H.D. Stafford Citizen of the Year in 2007, presented by the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce.
