Sue Shedd sheds light on the Rotary Scholar program!

Hi Everyone,

We had a really nice meeting last night. Sue Shedd was our guest speaker and talked about her Rotary Scholar year in England. She spoke about the application process and the fact that the money comes from Rotary International, not the local district. This is one of the ways the money we give to The Rotary Foundation is spent!

Last week we agreed that I would purchase two of Razia's children's books when I saw her this past weekend. She was so excited to see me and said she thinks of our club often! She asked for my business card and would like to make a visit the next time she's in town (next year). At first I suggested a few of our local clubs should get together and host a event for her, and then I thought, maybe we could do something through the district. She is looking for support in the form of money - $5 will buy a child a winter coat and $5 more will purchase them a pair of winter boots.
