Rider Scott Colbank (light bLue Jersey) travels from Kansas City for his 5th year riding Ride the Ridges. Scot told me that he found out about the ride while taking the Empire Builder train from Washington back home and one of the "smoke" stops was Winona. He stepped outside to stretch his legs and have a look around and thought Wow what a beautiful area. While he was looking around in our little train station he spotted a Rack card with the other local brochures that advertised Ride the Ridges. He then returned to Winona that next year and began his yearly rides in Winona.
Zack Hedling and friend John Buffer had heard about Ride the Ridges from friend and local Rotarian Keith Holmquist. They decided to travel from the Twin Cities to give it a try for the 1 st time. They said they were having a great time and loved how beautiful it is here.
I think it was a beautiful day and rider feedback at the Witoka stop was so incredibly positive. We were thanked over and over and as usual the Bloedows Donuts were a huge hit.
