At last week's meeting we talked about Youth Protection Training. It's important that Rotarians take the training and become Certified Volunteers. A Certified Volunteer is someone who has "significant interaction" with youth through Rotary activities. It is not mandatory, unless you have this interaction, but it would be good to get as many club members certified as possible.

As an incentive, an anonymous club member is going to donate $5 to the Foundation for each Rotarian who completes the training for the first time and $1 for each Rotarian who re-certifies (this must be done every 3 years). This incentive is good until August 31.

The training is easy, and doesn't take very much time. To find it, go to www.rotary5960.org. All the Youth Protection information is on the left side of the page. Click on the link and it will show you all the information you need. You will need to create an account.

Good luck with the training - contact Beth Moe with any questions you might have - and thanks to our generous fellow Rotarian!
