Meet New Member Erik Thompson
Erik Thompson was born and raised in Winona. The son of Walter and the late Mary Thompson, he has an older sister Rosie and a younger brother Kirk. His family grew when his father married Darlene and he gained 2 step brothers and 2 step sisters.
At the age of 5, he picked up his first golf club. When he was 10 years old, he played in his first golf tournament and has continued with this sport throughout his life. He played competitively in high school, was part of the 1984 State Championship golf team, and eventually obtained a golf scholarship to play with the Gophers at the University of Minnesota, which he did for 3 years. He was fortunate to finish his collegiate golf career his senior year at Winona State University, playing on the team with his brother and Brian Paulson and going to the NAIA National Championship tournament.
In 1994, Erik married his high school sweetheart, Mari, and they have made their home in Winona. They are members of Central Lutheran Church.
Erik began his career with W&C Printing twenty one years ago working with the Trainor family. Last year they joined forces with Inland Marketing Services and formed a joint company called InTech, where he continues to work as a National Solutions Provider.
As a member of the Warrior Club Board of Directors, Erik is committed to raising money for WSU athletics. He is proud to become a member of the Winona Rotary Club. His main interests include physical fitness, working out at the YMCA, biking, bowling, golfing and cooking alongside his wife in the kitchen.
