International Literacy Day

September 8th was International Literacy Day.  Literacy is one of Rotary International's major areas of focus.  And on a local level Winona Rotary has many projects that focus on literacy.  Several projects that you could get involved with include; Rotary Readers, where Rotarians go into the classrooms and read to kids, and the Dictionary Project, where we give area 3rd graders their own dictionary.  And funding for these projects come from our annual Rose Sale.  So in honor of International Literacy Day, sell a few extra dozen roses to help Winona Rotary to continue our strong literacy focus.
