On the occasion of the Official Visit of our District Governor, David Clark, we inducted our first new member for this Rotary year. Her name is Ida Xiandi Shi, and we first met her when she came as a Guest Speaker in July. She made a big impression on the members that night as she recounted her experiences in her 'Journey of a Chinese Student to Sydney'. Having completed a degree in software engineering in China and then spending time in Hospitality while living in Beijing, she decided she wanted to come to Australia as a full-time student at Macquarie University where she enrolled in a Masters Degree course in Social Entrepreneurship which she completed with High Distinctions in several subjects. Following that talk, Ida was invited to join the club which she quickly agreed to. She is keen to become involved in our community connections as her goal in life is to make improvements in society.
