At Easter we played the Easter Bunny for the residents of Lutanda Manor, a retirement village in Pennant Hills. This is a village which we are quite familiar with and whose Community Centre we have used for functions from time to time. This project came about during a Zoom meeting just prior to Easter when it was suggested that we provide the residents with a surprise on Easter morning to raise their spirits during the Coronavirus pandemic which left our senior folk so isolated.
We decided to provide a bag of Easter eggs for each of the 85 villas and the 15 serviced apartments. The village management were enthusiastic supporters of our idea and agreed to deliver the surprises to the serviced apartments, while one of our members and his wife who are residents there, volunteered to do the deliveries to all 85 villas.
So Easter eggs were purchased, together with cello bags and ribbon, and a gift message was printed. In record time, all this was done and the gifts assembled. Then early Easter Sunday morning the Easter Bunny made the deliveries.
Throughout the following week, we received numerous expressions of surprise and thanks from residents throughout the village.
