The Tree of Joy at Pennant Hills Marketplace came to a very successful conclusion this week. We have hung well over 300 cards on the tree and we believe we will have received approximately 350 gifts by weeks end. The response by the Pennant Hills community has been phenomenal with cards being taken at a constant rate each day for the last 4 weeks.
Just over 60 gifts for Stewart House at Curl Curl were delivered last Tuesday. They were very pleased to receive the gifts just in time to give to their last intake of children for the year. These are children who would probably not receive any presents at Christmas.
On Friday the delivery took place to Parramatta Mission. They received the balance of the gifts received from the tree. Again they were overjoyed at the quantity of presents received. Christmas is a very busy time for the mission with a vast number of hampers prepared for needy families. The presents are a great addition for these people – seniors, adults and children.
We are very greatful for the support of the Pennant Hills community, the Pennant Hills Market Place and the Banna Group who supported and provided the security for the gifts throughout the time of the Tree of Joy.
