- Josh has lived in Faribault his whole life. His family is from here too.
- He attended MSU Mankato for law enforcement. At the time he completed college, there was hundreds of applicants for police officer jobs.
- Started at MN Department of Corrections with intentions of getting into LE later but has stayed with the DOC.
- He likes the community policing aspect of this field and enjoys being more involved in community.
- He was a Northfield Police Reserve Officer 10 years, and Faribault Police Reserve for 2 years

- MCF-Faribault is 130 acres and is the largest prison in MN by size and population.
- As of today, MCF Faribault has 1976 adult offenders currently on site.
- There is a lot of history at MCF Faribault – he is the chair of the history committee.
- Most inmates at MCF Faribault are in the age range of 36-45

- Wide range of offenses committed by inmates at MCF Faribault. The most common sentenced inmates there are for Criminal Sexual Conduct.
- Different prisons have different levels of programming, which can be specific for offenses that inmates have committed prior to being incarcerated.
- Faribault programming is mostly an outpatient program and is helping prepare counseling for inmates to re-enter society. Many are toward the end of their sentences.
- For the most part, the facility is relaxed and he attributes that to the level of training and abilities of the officers that work there.
- Officers are proficient in using de-escalation skills and interpersonal skills to reduce any use of force incidents.
- Stillwater prison closing may increase some more higher risk inmates coming to MCF Faribault.

- MCF Faribault serves 6,000 meals per day

- Recreation is an option for inmates.
